Adriaan van Oorschot

Adriaan (Adrie) van Oorschot (1920–2004) was a Dutch actor, television producer, and magician. He was a prominent figure in Dutch entertainment, particularly known for his long tenure as the television 'Sinterklaas' from 1965 to 1985, a role that became a cultural landmark in the Netherlands. Throughout his career, he worked as a ventriloquist, mime, and imitator, performing in various theater companies and television programs. He was also the younger brother of publisher Geert van Oorschot. Van Oorschot authored several works, primarily aimed at children, and contributed to the development of Dutch youth television and literature during the mid-20th century.^[1]
