Albert Plécy

Albert Plécy was a prominent French journalist, photographer, filmmaker, and painter. He is widely recognized as a specialist in the language of images. During World War II, he served as a sub-lieutenant and headed the Service Cinéma aux Armées (SCA) in Tunisia, Corsica, and Italy, where he worked as a war photographer. Post-war, he became the editor-in-chief of 'Point de vue – Images du monde' magazine, where he promoted humanist photography and curated permanent photo exhibitions. He was a co-founder of the association 'Gens d'images' and established several cultural initiatives, including the 'Cathédrale d'Images' audiovisual spectacle in Les Baux-de-Provence. His literary works include 'La grammaire élémentaire de l'image', which explored the aesthetics and analysis of visual media.[3,4,5]
