Alberto Moravia

author

Alberto Moravia (born Alberto Pincherle) was a prominent Italian novelist, journalist, and essayist. Born in Rome in 1907, he adopted the pen name 'Moravia' to distinguish himself from another writer of the same surname. He is widely regarded as one of the most important Italian novelists of the 20th century, known for his explorations of social alienation, sexuality, and modern life. His literary career flourished after World War II, with works such as 'Gli Indifferenti' (1929) and 'The Conformist' (1952). Moravia was also a frequent cultural observer and travel writer, contributing texts to various photobooks and publications.[1]
