Albertus Willem Sijthoff (1829–1913) was a prominent Dutch printer and publisher based in Leiden. He founded the publishing house A.W. Sijthoff's Uitgeversmaatschappij in 1851, which quickly established a leading position in the Dutch book trade, particularly in the distribution of translated works. His firm became well-known for high-quality production and was involved in various literary and academic publications until it eventually merged into Luitingh-Sijthoff in 1989.[1,2,3]
