Anna Fárová

author

Anna Fárová (1928–2010) was a distinguished Czech-French art historian and curator who specialized in the cataloging and promotion of Czech and Czechoslovak photography. Born in Paris to a French mother and a Czech father, she dedicated over 60 years to documenting the work of significant photographers such as František Drtikol and Josef Sudek. She is recognized as one of the first art historians to treat photography as a serious fine art form. Fárová served as an expert for various institutions, including the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague, where she built extensive photographic collections. Her scholarly work includes comprehensive biographies, bibliographies, and exhibition histories that remain essential resources for researchers of Central European photography.[1,2,3]
