Anton Witsel (1911–1977) was a Dutch artist and illustrator. He lived in the old Jewish quarter of Amsterdam during World War II and became known for his drawings of the neighborhood before, during, and after the war. He was involved in the rescue of the Anne Frank House from demolition in 1958 and is remembered for his artistic documentation of the Jewish community's history.[1,2]
