Bill Manville (W.H. Manville) was an American author and journalist who gained prominence as a columnist for the Village Voice. His work often explored themes of addiction, bohemian culture, and urban life in New York City. He authored several books, including 'Saloon Society: The Diary of a Year Beyond Aspirin' (1960), which chronicled his observations of the city's nightlife and social scenes. Manville also served as an editor for Helen Gurley Brown at Cosmo magazine and was a teacher and radio host before his death in 2017.[1,2,3]
