Bruno Bernard

Bruno Bernard (1912–1987), professionally known as 'Bruno of Hollywood,' was a German-born American photographer. He became well-known for his glamour and fashion photography, capturing numerous top movie stars during the mid-20th century. His work is characterized by its focus on figure lighting and composition, themes he explored in his 1948 book 'Art Photography: Figure Lighting and Composition.' Bernard was educated at Kiel University and later established himself in the United States, where he operated as a prominent celebrity photographer. He is noted for capturing early photographs of Marilyn Monroe and other icons of the era.
