Christiane Kuhlmann

Christiane Kuhlmann is a German art historian and curator specializing in photography and contemporary art. She holds a Master's degree from the University of Bochum (graduated 1997) and a doctorate on the medial intersection of dance and photography in the 1920s. Kuhlmann has held various curatorial positions across Europe, including roles at the Museum der Moderne Salzburg, the Heidi Horten Collection in Vienna, and as the director of the Emslandmuseum Schloss Clemenswerth (since 2024). She is a prolific author of publications on photography history and theory, notably co-authoring works on Richard Tepe for the Rijksmuseum.[1,2]
