Claudio Edinger

Claudio Edinger is a Brazilian photographer and author born in Rio de Janeiro in 1952. He began his photographic career in 1975 and lived in New York City for approximately 20 years (from the late 1970s to the mid-1990s), during which time he captured significant cultural moments, including the bohemian life of the Chelsea Hotel. Edinger is renowned for his documentary, journalistic, and fine art work, often exploring themes of urban life, cultural rituals, mental health, and philosophical inquiries into perception and identity. He has authored over 20 books on photography and various subjects. His work has been exhibited internationally in the USA, Brazil, Europe, and Asia, and is held in major collections including LACMA (Los Angeles) and Maison Européenne de la Photographie (Paris).[1,2,3,4]
