Dolph Kessler

Dolph Kessler is a Dutch documentary photographer born in Amsterdam in 1950. He studied urban engineering at the Delft University of Technology (1968-1975) and began his career as a regional planner for the province of Friesland (1976-1982). From 1982 to 1991, he served as an alderman (wethouder) in Leeuwarden, overseeing portfolios including finance, culture, and social affairs. After working as a program manager for urban complexes and running a study tour institute, Kessler trained at the Foto Academie Amsterdam from 2003 to 2006. Since 2006, he has worked full-time as a documentary photographer, focusing on the 'condition humaine' (the modern human in social and cultural contexts), landscapes, and the influence of humans on nature. He publishes his work primarily through his own publishing house, Mauritsheech Publishers.[1,2]
