Enzo Sellerio (1924–2012) was an Italian photographer, publisher and collector. He was born in Palermo to an Italian father and a Russian mother. He studied law and for a time lectured in law at the University of Palermo. From 1952 he photographed Sicily and Sicilians, and he became a full-time photographer in the early 1950s. His first reportage, "Borgo di Dio" (1955), appeared in Cinema Nuovo and is considered a masterpiece of Italian neorealist photography. His photographs were published in magazines including Il Mondo, Vogue and Fortune. In the mid-1960s he worked as a freelance in the United States. In 1969 he founded the publishing house Sellerio editore with his wife Elvira Giorgianni. He designed the house's graphics and series, and the house became known for publishing Andrea Camilleri's Montalbano novels. He died in Palermo on 22 February 2012. He is the photographer featured in this 1983 volume of the Fabbri series I Grandi Fotografi.[1,2,3]
