Gert Mattenklott

author

Gert Mattenklott (1942–2009) was a German comparative literature scholar, art philosopher, critic, and essayist. He held several prestigious academic positions, including an ordinarius professorship for Comparative Literature at the Philipps University of Marburg and later at the Free University of Berlin. His research interests were diverse, spanning Judaica, aesthetics, world literature in the context of globalization, and the history of German literature. Mattenklott was a prolific writer who contributed to numerous journals and edited several significant works on art and literature. He is noted for his scholarly contributions to the study of aesthetic opposition and the philosophical dimensions of literary forms.[1]
