Gilles Blanchard is a French painter and artist who has collaborated with photographer Pierre Commoy since 1976 under the joint pseudonym Pierre et Gilles. Born in Le Havre (Sainte-Adresse) in 1953, he studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Le Havre. He is known for his meticulous hand-painting on photographic prints, creating a unique visual style that fuses photography and painting to explore themes of kitsch, religion, and pop culture.[1,2]
