Gina Kaus

Gina Kaus (born Regina Wiener; also known as Regina Zirner-Kranz) was an Austrian writer, translator, and screenwriter. A prominent figure in the Vienna intellectual scene during the interwar period, she was a close friend of figures like Robert Musil and Franz Werfel. She was influenced by Alfred Adler's individual psychology and became a committed communist. Her literary work spans novels, short stories, and plays, often exploring themes of female identity, eroticism, and social critique. She lived in exile in France and later the United States after the Nazi rise to power.
