Hans-Michael Koetzle

Hans-Michael Koetzle is a German author, journalist, and photo historian based in Munich. He specializes in the history and aesthetics of photography, particularly focusing on the 20th century. Since 1996, he served as the editor-in-chief of 'Leica World' magazine. Koetzle has authored numerous influential books on photographic icons, photographers, and specific historical periods. He is recognized for his extensive research into the works of René Burri and other significant figures in photography. In 2022, he received the Culture Prize from the German Society for Photography (DGPh) for his contributions to the field.[1]
