Hans Redeker

Hans Redeker (Johannes Eilko Cornelis Redeker) was a Dutch poet, journalist, art historian, and essayist. He studied philosophy and criminology in Utrecht and Groningen before debuting as a poet in 1945 with 'De tijd in ons hart'. In 1949, he became an art critic for the Algemeen Handelsblad, eventually serving as an editor of the art section from 1959 until his retirement in 1977. Redeker was known for his extensive publications on Dutch artists and philosophy, including works on Jan Wiegers and Carel Willink. He received a knighthood in the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic in 1977 for his contributions to Italian art. He died in Amsterdam in 1992.[1,2,3,4]
