Dutch[1] active 1816–present

Hein Salomonson was a prominent Dutch industrialist and textile manufacturer. Along with his brother Godfried, he established a cotton trading firm in Almelo in 1816. Leveraging family connections in England, the brothers were among the first to introduce steam-powered machinery into the Dutch textile industry. In 1852, they founded the Koninklijke Stoomweverij (Royal Steam Weaving) in Nijverdal, which became one of the largest industrial enterprises in the Netherlands during the 19th and 20th centuries. The company was a major producer for the colonial Indonesian market and eventually merged with Ten Cate in 1957.[1,2,3]
