Helmut Groh

Helmut Groh was a German photographer and publisher active in the mid-20th century. He is primarily known for his role as an editor and publisher of 'Unser Dasein', a magazine associated with the Liga für Lebensreform (League for Life Reform) based in Karlsruhe. The publication focused on themes of life reform, free body culture (Freikörperkultur), and nudism. Groh's work was characterized by its promotion of natural lifestyles and aestheticized depictions of nudity. In 1960, he was notably prosecuted and sentenced to six years in a penitentiary for various offenses related to the distribution of pornographic imagery.[1]
