Henk Nieuwenhuijs

Henk Nieuwenhuijs was a Dutch photographer and visual artist born in Amsterdam. He attended the Graphic School (Grafische School) where he trained as a typesetter and retoucher. During his career, he worked extensively for the newspaper 'Het Vrije Volk', where he contributed significantly to their photographic documentation of events during and after World War II. His work is noted for its contribution to the visual history of the Netherlands in the mid-20th century.
