Henri de Montherlant was a prominent French writer and poet of the early 20th century. Known for his intense, often controversial literary style and his involvement in various intellectual movements, he contributed significantly to French literature with works exploring themes of aesthetics, masculinity, and the human condition. He provided the preface for Brassaï's 'Fiesta in Seville'.^[1]
