author

Herman Gordijn (1932-2017) was a prominent Dutch painter and artist known for his unique position in modern art. His work is characterized by a balanced use of composition, rhythm, color, light, and shade, employing an abstract language to create eloquent and expressive figurative paintings, drawings, etchings, woodcuts, and lithographs. He taught at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam from 1969 to 1987 and was recognized for his original style that stood out against the dominance of abstraction in Dutch art during the mid-20th century.[4]
