Horacio Fernández Martínez is a Spanish art historian, photography historian, and university professor. He has been a tenured professor of the History of Photography at the University of Castilla-La Mancha in Cuenca since 1988. He is a prominent figure in the study of the photobook, having curated numerous major exhibitions and published several scholarly works on the subject. In 1999, he curated the significant exhibition "Fotografía Pública: Photography in Print 1919-1939" at the Reina Sofía museum. He also served as the general curator of PhotoEspaña, the international photography festival in Madrid, between 2004 and 2006. His work focuses on documenting the historical development of photography and the artistic evolution of the photobook in both Spain and Latin America.[1,2,3,4,5]
