Hubertus von Amelunxen is a German philosopher, art historian, photography critic, and curator. He has held numerous academic positions, including serving as the president and provost of the European Graduate School from 2013 to 2018 and as rector of the École Européenne Supérieure de l'Image (ÉESI) in France from 2005 to 2009. He is a prominent theorist on the history and philosophy of photography, having authored several books and edited numerous publications on media theory and visual culture. His curatorial work includes international exhibitions for artists such as Cy Twombly and Iannis Xenakis. Since 2020, he has served as the Academic Director of Archivio Conz in Berlin.[1,2,3]
