author · photographer
Ivor Castle (also known as William Ivor Castle) was a Canadian war photographer who served as an official photographer during the First World War. He is best known for his contribution to 'Covenants With Death' (1934), a book that compiled graphic and authentic photographs of the war's atrocities. His work provided a stark visual record of the suffering and destruction of modern combat, which was used to advocate against the perils of foreign entanglements.[1,2]
