Jaap ter Haar (1922–1998) was a prolific Dutch historian, war correspondent, and author specializing in children's literature, history, and mythology. He gained recognition for his series of children's stories and historical narratives, often adapting international works for a Dutch audience. During World War II, he served as a war correspondent in Indonesia. His bibliography includes over 80 books, many of which are series for young readers.[1,2,3]
