Joan Fontcuberta Villà

Joan Fontcuberta (born 1955) is a renowned Spanish conceptual artist, photographer, writer, and curator. He is best known for his work that examines the truthfulness of photography and the relationship between images and reality. His projects often involve elaborate hoaxes or fictional narratives to critique authority and cultural perceptions. Fontcuberta has held various academic positions, including at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona and as a visiting lecturer at Harvard University. He is also an editor of the visual arts journal PhotoVision.[1]
