John Lewis

John Lewis was a prominent American civil rights leader and politician. He was one of the 'Big Six' leaders of the civil rights movement in the 1960s, known for leading the Selma March in 1965 and participating in the Freedom Rides. In 1986, he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, where he served until his death in 2020. He is remembered as a champion for human rights and racial equality.[1,2,3,4,5,6,7]
