Jonathan Williams

Jonathan Chamberlain Williams (died 2008) was an American poet and publisher. He founded Jargon Books in 1951 while a student at Black Mountain College, where he was influenced by Charles Olson. Williams is noted for his unique aesthetic sensibility in publishing, often pairing artists with literary works and creating beautifully designed books that explored outsider art and contemporary literature. He served as the writer of the introduction to 'Clarence John Laughlin: The Personal Eye' (1973).[1,2,3]
