Kaveh Golestan

Kaveh Golestan (1950–2003) was a pioneering Iranian photojournalist and artist known for his courageous documentary photography. His work captured significant historical events in Iran, including the Islamic Revolution, the Iran-Iraq War, and the Gulf Wars, as well as social issues such as the lives of workers, prostitutes, and the mentally insane. He was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for his coverage of the Iranian Revolution and received the Robert Capa Gold Medal in 1979 (collected in 1992). Golestan died in 2003 after stepping on a landmine while on an assignment for the BBC in northern Iraq.[1,2]
