Kenny Scharf

Kenny Scharf is an American painter and iconic street artist known for his participation in New York City's interdisciplinary East Village art scene during the 1980s alongside Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring. A graduate of the School of Visual Arts, Scharf's work often features stylized aliens, popular culture icons, and colorful, cartoonish patterns. He is recognized as a 'pop surrealist' whose graffiti paintings gained notoriety in the downtown art scene. His practice spans painting, sculpture, installation, and murals.[4]
