Lawrence Weiner

Lawrence Weiner (1942–2022) was an American conceptual artist known for his text-based works and performance art. He lived and worked in both New York and Amsterdam. His practice often involves the use of language as a primary medium, creating 'statements' that explore the relationship between words, space, and perception. Weiner is recognized for his contributions to conceptualism, including his work with the Art & Project group and his involvement in various international art movements. He was a significant figure in the development of artists' books and performance-based documentation.[1]
