Linda Nochlin

Linda Nochlin (1931–2017) was a prominent American feminist art historian and educator. She is widely recognized for her influential scholarship on the role of women in art history, particularly her seminal essay 'Why Have There Been No Great Women Artists?'. A professor at New York University's Institute of Fine Arts, she dedicated much of her career to analyzing how gender and institutional structures have shaped artistic production and reception. Her work includes extensive research into Impressionism, post-impressionism, and the history of women artists in Britain.[2]
