Louis de Jong

Louis (Loe or Lou) de Jong (1914–2005) was a Dutch historian and journalist. He served as the director of the Rijksinstituut voor Oorlogsdocumentatie (RIOD) from 1945 to 1979. De Jong is best known for his monumental fourteen-volume work 'Het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden in de Tweede Wereldoorlog', which documents the history of the Netherlands and the Dutch East Indies during World War II. He also presented a television series on the occupation from 1960 to 1965.[5]
