Martial Raysse (born 1936) is a distinguished French contemporary artist and a founding member of the Nouveau Réalisme movement. Born into a family of ceramists in Vallauris, he began his career by creating work that straddled American Pop and French Nouveau Réalisme. His multidisciplinary practice spans painting, sculpture, photography, and installation, often exploring consumer imagery, neon elements, and classical references with a distinctive language of irony and color.
