Michael Grant Ignatieff

Michael Grant Ignatieff is a Canadian author, historian, academic, and former politician. Born in Toronto to Russian and Scottish-Canadian parents, he was educated at Upper Canada College, the University of Toronto, and Harvard University, where he earned his PhD in history. He has held senior academic positions at several prestigious institutions, including the University of Cambridge, the University of Oxford, Harvard University, and the University of Toronto. In Canadian politics, he served as the leader of the Liberal Party of Canada and Leader of the Official Opposition from 2008 to 2011.
