Michael Mack

Michael Mack is a prominent German-British photographer and independent art and photography publisher. Born in Freiburg in 1978, he began his career in the publishing world in 1994, working with the renowned German publisher Steidl for 15 years as managing director. During this time, he oversaw the publication of over 300 books under the imprint SteidlMACK. In 2010, Mack founded his own independent publishing house, MACK, based in London. His work is characterized by a rigorous approach to book-making and a focus on critical dialogues within contemporary art, film, architecture, and photography. He has published numerous award-winning books and established the annual First Book Award for emerging photographers.[1,2,3,4,5]
