Michèle Auer (also known as Michèle Auer-Ory) is a Swiss photographer and historian of photography. She is the co-founder and director of the Fondation Auer Ory pour la photographie in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. Alongside her husband, Michel Auer, she has been instrumental in documenting the history of photography through numerous publications, most notably the "Encyclopédie Internationale des Photographes" alongside her husband, Michel Auer. Her work is dedicated to the preservation of photographic heritage, the study of both historical and contemporary photography, and the maintenance of significant collections of photographic works.[1,2]
