Mikhail Karasik (1953–2017) was a prominent Russian artist, publisher, curator, and scholar known for his expertise in the history of the Russian avant-garde and Soviet book art. Based in St. Petersburg, Karasik was a significant figure in the "artist's book" movement, creating and curating works that explore the intersection of graphic art and literature. His scholarship focused extensively on the development of Soviet photography and photobooks between 1920 and 1941. He was a member of the Union of Artists of Russia and contributed to numerous exhibitions of book art. Karasik’s work is characterized by his meticulous documentation of lithography, posters, and avant-garde publications, making him a key authority on the history of Russian print culture.[1,2,3]
