Niki de Saint Phalle (1930–2002) was a French-American sculptor, painter, filmmaker, and author. She is widely noted as one of the few prominent female artists of the 20th century, known for her colorful hand-illustrated books and large-scale public sculptures. Her work often explored themes of femininity and nature through vibrant colors and innovative forms. From around 1953 until her death in 2002, she produced a diverse range of media including paintings, drawings, prints, films, and performative works.
