Paul William Gallico

Paul William Gallico (1897–1976) was a prolific American novelist, short story writer, journalist, and screenwriter. Born in New York City to immigrant parents—an Italian father and an Austrian mother—Gallico began his career as a sports journalist for the New York Daily News in the 1920s. He became well-known for his contributions to boxing promotion and his diverse literary output, which included novels, short stories, and children's books. His works were frequently adapted into motion pictures, including 'The Poseidon Adventure'. Gallico was also a popular columnist and author of several best-selling titles, notably exploring themes of human behavior and animal companionship.[1,2,3]
