Ralph Ball
author
Ralph Ball is a British designer and academic known for his innovative furniture and lighting designs. He graduated from the Royal College of Art in 1980 and has achieved significant critical and commercial success across the design field. Ball was an originator of suspended wire low voltage lighting systems (e.g., Aero Light, 1979) and later became a Professor of Design at the University of Washington USA before returning to the UK for academic roles at the University of the Arts London. His practice, often referred to as 'Design Poetics,' explores conceptual objects that comment on Modernism and contemporary design.
