Raoul Hausmann

photographer

Raoul Hausmann was an Austrian artist and writer, a key figure in the Berlin Dada movement. He is renowned for his pioneering work in photomontage, sound poetry, and experimental photography. After moving to Berlin in 1901, he received training from his father, a painter, and became involved with Expressionism before co-founding the Club Dada in 1918. His works often explored themes of technology, mechanical heads, and institutional critique. In later years, he lived in exile in France and Ibiza, where he continued to produce photography and theoretical writings on art.[1,2]
