René de Milliano

René de Milliano is a Dutch publisher and author based in Amsterdam. He founded the regional publishing house 'Uitgeverij René de Milliano' in 1989, which specializes in books about the history and neighborhoods of Amsterdam. De Milliano was born on November 28, 1951, in Amsterdam and grew up in the Slotermeer district. He studied Social Geography and Philosophy at the University of Amsterdam after completing military service and a period of study in Eindhoven. His publishing house is known for producing accessible historical publications featuring numerous illustrations that document the evolution of various Amsterdam districts, such as De Pijp, Zeeburg, and Oud-West.^[1]
