Richard von Frankenberg (1922–1973) was a prominent German journalist, race car driver, and automotive historian. He is best known for his extensive work with Porsche, where he founded the official magazine 'Christophorus' in 1952 and served as its editor-in-chief for many years. A skilled racing driver himself, he competed as a works driver for Porsche from 1953 to 1960, achieving several class victories at Le Mans and in the Mille Miglia. Beyond his journalistic career, Frankenberg was a prolific author of automotive literature, documenting the history of racing and specific marques. He died in a roadway accident on the Avus high-speed track in Berlin.[1,2,3,4,5]
