Roberto Piva

author

Roberto Piva (died 2010) was a Brazilian poet and writer known for his rebellious and transgressive style. He first gained notoriety with the publication of 'Paranoia' in 1963, which was recognized internationally as one of the first works of delirious poetry published in Brazil. His work is characterized by an exploration of urban life, particularly that of São Paulo, often blending personal delirium with real-world facts and influences ranging from Baudelaire to the Beat Generation. Piva's poetry is marked by a sense of passion and a rejection of literary formalism, focusing on the immediate 'instant'.[1]
