Roel van Duijn

Roel van Duijn (born January 20, 1943) is a Dutch politician, political activist, and writer. He was one of the primary founders of the Provo movement and later the Kabouterbeweging in Amsterdam during the late 1960s. Known as an ideologue for these movements, he advocated for 'provotarian' revolution against consumerism and state authority. Van Duijn served in various political capacities, including a term as alderman (wethouder) of Amsterdam from 1974 to 1976. He also worked as a biological farmer in Zeeland before returning to politics. His literary work often focuses on social history, environmentalism, and the documentation of Dutch counterculture.[1,2,3]
