Roy Perkinson

Roy Perkinson is an American art conservator and painter. He holds a B.S. in physics and philosophy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and an M.A. in art history from Boston University. He received his training in paper conservation at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, under F. W. Dolloff from 1967 to 1970. Perkinson served as the Head of the Virginia Herrick Deknatel Paper Conservation Laboratory at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, until his retirement in 2006. He is well-known in the conservation community for his translation and editing of Max Schweidler's restoration manual into English. In addition to his conservation career, Perkinson is an active painter, working in oil, pastel, and watercolor.[1,2,3]
