Ru Meijer
designer
Ru Meijer was a Dutch furniture designer and entrepreneur who co-founded the company KEMBO in 1953 alongside Willem Hendrik Gispen. The name KEMBO is an acronym for 'Kom Eerst Maar Bij Ons' (Come to us first). While Gispen provided much of the early design direction, Meijer played a critical role in the management and production of the firm. In the 1960s, he passed the company on to his three sons, who continued the legacy of KEMBO furniture.[1]
