Rudolf Kicken (1947–2014) was a prominent German gallerist, collector, and author who founded Kicken Berlin, one of the first galleries in Germany dedicated to artistic photography. He was a pioneer for the German photography art market and played a crucial role in bringing photography into dialogue with other artistic media. Kicken was known for his extensive collection and his dedication to promoting the medium in international museum contexts. He co-founded the Kicken Gallery in 1974 and worked closely with his wife, Annette Kicken, to establish it as a leading institution for photography.[1,2]
